CDC: 28 million people are uninsured

Some 8.8 percent of the population was uninsured for the first three months of this year, a new government report finds.

About 28 million people in the U.S were uninsured from January through March, according to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

That’s a drop of about 500,000 from the same period last year, which isn’t considered a significant change, the CDC said.

That compares to 48.6 million uninsured before ObamaCare was passed in 2010.

Of those uninsured for the first three months of the year, 5.3 percent were children age 17 and younger.

The report found that adults aged 24-34 were almost twice as likely as adults aged 45-64 to lack health insurance coverage.
