The updated Daily features a refreshed front grille with a horizontal, louvred set-up, replacing its previous ‘honeycomb’ look.
Iveco introduced its facelifted Daily van this week, with the commercial model featuring revised styling and boosted equipment levels across its vast line-up.
Affecting the rear-wheel drive regular van, single-cab chassis and dual-cab chassis body styles, the update ushers in a refreshed front grille with a horizontal, louvred appearance, replacing the previous ‘honeycomb’ look. Furthermore, the new design improves engine cooling performance.
Each variant can be paired to either a six-speed manual gearbox or eight-speed ‘Hi-Matic’ automatic transmission, with the latter picking up a reworked oil-to-air cooler and a new two-speed fan, as well as a chrome-accented front grille.
Two versions – 35S and 50C – of the regular van are offered.
Inside, all Daily variants pick up two-tone seating and a revised dashboard featuring a new central open storage area with USB ports. Additionally, automatic variants receive a two-tone coloured dashboard.
Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels have been reduced, with the former down four decibels, thanks to added insulation, redesigned B-pillar swabs and reshaped side mirrors.
Three Euro 5-compliant diesel engines are available, including a single-turbo ’13’ 2.3-litre producing 93kW between 3000-3500rpm and 320Nm from 1800-2500rpm, a single-turbo ’17’ 3.0-litre making 125kW between 2900-3500rpm and 430Nm from 1500-2600rpm, and a twin-turbo ’20’ 3.0-litre developing 150kW between 3100-3500rpm and 470Nm from 1400-3000rpm.
Two versions – 35S and 50C – of the regular van are offered, with the former available with all three powertrains, while the latter can only be paired with the ’17’ and ’20’ 3.0-litre options.
Seven volume capacities are offered, including 7.3, nine, 11, 12, 16 and 18 cubed metres, with either a 3000mm, 3520mm or 4100mm wheelbase.
A 70C version of the regular van has been added, with it boasting a segment-leading GVM of 7000kg on a 4100mm wheelbase. The 70C also has a unique Euro6-compliant 3.0-litre ’18’ turbo-diesel which pumps out 133kW and 430Nm. It is available with three volume capacities – either 16, 18 or 19.6 cubic metres.
Inside, all Daily variants pick up two-tone seating and a revised dashboard featuring a new central open storage area with USB ports.
Meanwhile, the single-cab chassis is offered in 45C, 50C and 70C guises, while the dual-cab chassis comes in only 50C and 70C forms. Both cab chassis body styles are mated to the ’17’ and ’20’ 3.0-litre powerplants exclusively.
Wheelbase options for either single-cab or dual-cab include 3450mm, 3750mm, 4100mm, 4350mm and 4750mm. The single-cab can also come with a 3000mm wheelbase.
Standard equipment for all Dailys extends to four airbags, electronic brake force distribution, electronic stability control, hill holder, roll-over mitigation, trailer sway mitigation, anti-slip regulator, front and rear disc brakes, ABS, four-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity and daytime running lights.
A 6.2-inch touchscreen multimedia system with satellite navigation and a reversing camera is optional on all Dailys, excluding the 70C van variants which feature it as standard.
A larger 7.0-inch ‘IveConnect’ unit partly comprises the extra-cost, range-wide ‘Business Premium Pack’, which also includes a reverse buzzer and integrated foglights.
With this options package pre-selected, Daily buyers can further add a ‘Comfort Pack’ and/or ‘Efficiency Pack’.
Each variant can be paired to either a six-speed manual gearbox or eight-speed ‘Hi-Matic’ automatic transmission.
The former features an air-suspended, heated driver’s seat with armrest and climate control, while the latter includes a stop/start system (2.3-litre 35S van only), lane departure warning and an ‘Ecoswitch’ that reduces torque for improved fuel efficiency when lightly loaded or totally unladen.
Individual options range from a rear air suspension, rear differential lock, dual sliding doors to cargo area windows.
Braked towing capacity is 3500kg for cab chassis variants and 3200-3500kg for regular van variants.
Pricing for the expansive Daily range can be obtained by contacting a preferred Iveco dealership.
