Holden’s updated assurance program matches Ford at five-years/unlimited kilometres across the range.

Holden has announced that it will offer a permanent five-year warranty across its new-car range, matching key rival Ford’s assurance program which was updated in May this year.

The five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty also equals that offered by Honda, Hyundai and Skoda, but falls behind Kia which provides seven-year/unlimited kilometre cover across its line-up.

Meanwhile, Tesla continues to lead the market with an eight-year unlimited kilometre warranty which also comes with an eight-year/160,000km warranty period for electrical and mechanical defects.

Holden’s new warranty comes with unlimited kilometres for private and ABN customers or with a 200,000 kilometre cap for government, fleet and rental buyers.

Holden chairman and managing director Mark Bernhard suggested the warranty extension is emblematic of the company’s confidence in its vehicles and its dealer network.

“Holden’s product portfolio is the best line-up and quality we’ve ever had, especially in the key growth segments of SUVs and utes. We’ve always had confidence in our cars and this is putting money where our mouth is” he said.

“Buying a new car is a huge financial and emotional commitment and this five-year warranty is rounding out our market-leading portfolio of care for our customers.

“We also have the most passionate and capable dealer network in the country and this standard five-year warranty supports the work they’re doing to look after our customers” said Mr Bernhard.

Holden has been promoting retail offers on its warranty of seven years and unlimited kilometres on and off since last year.
