Audi’s EV supercar concept will be a “powerful electric drive”
Audi will unveil an all-electric supercar concept in California next month, releasing a dark and moody teaser image of the PB 18 e-tron.
The single image reveals little about the design, other than that its mega-wide styling promises a wild-looking final product. The dedicated two-seater was designed at the brand’s new studio in Malibu.
What else? Well, the lights are very cool; a new LED design that stretches to the distant edges of what appear to be gigantic wheel arches.
We’ll know for the sure when the PB 18 e-tron is unveiled at the 2018 Pebble Beach Car Week in California on August 23 (which is where the PB in the car’s name comes from).
Audi is keeping tight-lipped on exactly what will be powering the PB 18, other than to promise a “powerful electric drive”. Rumours abound that the concept will form the basis as a replacement for the brand’s R8 supercar, and Audi tells us this is a “design study for a puristic sports car of the future”.
